Dispatch Interpreters for Health, Medical, and Daily Life Consultation<\/h3>\n

To ensure that foreign residents living in Miyagi with insufficient Japanese proficiency can adequately access health, medical, and government services, MIA also dispatches volunteer interpreters at the request of health, medical, and other government institutions.<\/p>\n

Miyagi Support Center for Foreign Nationals<\/h3>\n

The Miyagi Support Center for Foreign Nationals offers consultation service in 13 languages (including Japanese) to assist foreign residents with problems they might encounter in daily life.

Support Center for Foreign Children<\/h3>\n

MIA can dispatch Japanese study support tutors and native language support tutors to schools throughout the prefecture to assist foreign children who do not yet have the Japanese proficiency to take classes in Japanese. We also offer consultation for problems related to foreign children.<\/p>\n

Daily Life Support Programs for Newcomers to Miyagi<\/h3>\n

MIA also organizes health, medical, and disaster prevention courses as well as hands-on experience programs at public facilities for students of our Japanese course and other foreigners living in the local area such as technical interns.<\/p>\n

Dispatch Disaster Interpretation Volunteers<\/h3>\n

In the event that a natural disaster occurs within the prefecture, MIA dispatches Disaster Interpretation Volunteers at the request of the disaster countermeasure headquarters in order to support foreign nationals while they are living in evacuation shelters.<\/p>\n

Program for Promoting Community Building with Technical Interns<\/h3>\n

In order to foster friendship between the increasingly numerous technical interns and local residents, MIA works with local municipalities and citizen organizations to organize exchange events and other activities.<\/p>\n

No-Interest Loans for Privately Financed Foreign Students<\/h3>\n

MIA provides interest free loans of up to \uffe5200,000 for privately financed foreign students in urgent need of daily living expenses etc. Available to exchange students enrolled in universities and other academic institutions in Miyagi.

Materials for Japanese language education and national flags for use at international exchange events are available for borrowing, free of charge.<\/p>\n

Create \u201cMiyagi International Organization Directory\u201d<\/h3>\n

A directory that lists and introduces organizations in Miyagi engaged in international activities to support networking and sharing of information among such organizations.<\/p>\n

Organize Liaison Conferences with Organizations Engaged in International Activities.<\/h3>\n

Liaison conferences for the purpose of exchanging information and strengthen collaboration between private international exchange organizations and municipal international exchange associations.<\/p>\n

Support Events Held by International Exchange Organizations<\/h3>\n

MIA provides support for a variety of events held by international exchange organizations.<\/p>\n

\u201cExperience the Heart of Miyagi\u201d Program<\/h3>\n

A program that introduces Miyagi\u2019s culture to foreign nationals living here by allowing them to participate in traditional cultural events in various municipalities and giving them an opportunity to interact with Japanese residents.<\/p>\n

Organize International Cooperation Seminars<\/h3>\n

Seminars for prefectural citizens held in cooperation with JICA\u2019s Tohoku Branch aiming at increasing awareness of international cooperation.<\/p>\n

Japanese Language Instruction for Foreign Prefectural Trainees<\/h3>\n

MIA provides Japanese language instruction to foreign trainees accepted by the prefectural government in efforts to provide technical support to developing countries.<\/p>\n

Support Overseas Immigrants<\/h3>\n
